In this reboot of the Star Trek timeline, we explore the origins of Kirk & Co. aboard the USS Enterprise under the command of Captain Christopher Pike. This is the part that fits into the classic Star Trek timeline, however, that is about all you'll see that conforms to the original timeline. In this new version of history, the future has come back to change things. Our young crew is under temporal modification from a Romulan named Nero (Eric Bana). Nero has come back to play with the past to mess with our beloved Kirk. Why O Why do the bad guys always have it in for Kirk? Not to be outdone, this story - which is really a continuation of the STNG story Unification - also has a future Spock doing some time medeling of his own. Yea, Nimoy, er Spock! The rest I'll leave for you to find out for free if you win tickets to the screening or later for the cost of a ticket - if you don't. Anyway, judging by JJ Abram's writing time travel stories (Does anyone have the Lost timeline straight now?), I'll be going to this movie 3 or 4 times before I have it figured out.
