closest thing he has to family - squabbling, insubordinate and undyingly loyal.

the galaxy unnoticed find themselves caught between the unstoppable military
force of the Universal Alliance and the horrific, cannibalistic fury of the

A Sound of Thunder
Screening Quiz/Contest
Screening Wednesday, August 31st, 7PM
@ The Colorado Center Theater (I-25 & Colorado)
In the near future, time travel will be an exciting, if
unpredictable, reality.
For a price, rich adventurers can stir their dormant killer
instincts by booking safaris back to the Prehistoric age to hunt
real, live dinosaurs.
There are only three essential rules: Don’t change anything in the
past; don’t leave anything behind; and most important, don’t bring
anything back. The slightest alteration might impact the existing
course of evolution in ways that no one can imagine.

American cave-explorers to help them investigate its depths.
Jack and his brother Tyler are thrill-seeking professional cave
explorers who run a team of the top divers in the world. They arrive
in Romania with all the latest equipment, including a new type of
scuba tank allowing a diver to remain submerged for up to 24 hours.

immediately begins their exploration. But what they find deep inside

Valiant
Screening Quiz/Contest
Screening Monday, August 15th, 7PM @
The Colorado Center (I-25 & Colorado Blvd)
From the producer of Shrek and Shrek 2, comes
this high-flying computer-animated comedy-adventure tale of a
brave-but-undersized pigeon named Valiant, who dreams of joining the
elite Royal Homing Pigeon Service (RHPS), and serving crown and
country during World War II. Despite his small stature, Valiant's
ambitions are enormous as he keeps a stiff upper beak and endures
rigorous training in preparation for a dangerous mission to deliver
vital messages to troops behind enemy lines. With a shortage of
wingpower in the royal fleet due to increased attacks by a brigade
of vicious enemy falcons (led by the ruthless General Von Talon),
the mission falls to Valiant and the unlikely heroes of "Squad F" to
try and save the day. With a wing and a prayer, Valiant and his fine
feathered pals fly into harm's way and prove that it's not the size
of the wingspan that counts, but the size of the spirit. Filled with
adventure, comedy and memorable characters, Valiant delivers
great entertainment for audiences of all ages. John Cleese, Tim
Curry, Jim Broadbent, and an all-star vocal cast of British
favorites also add to the fun and excitement of this imaginative
feature. The film was inspired by the fact that pigeons saved
thousands of lives during the war, and 31 of the 53 top honors given
to animal heroes went to pigeons.
This movie is rated G.

Grizzly
Man
Screening
Screening Tuesday, August 9th -
7:30pm @ The Esquire Theater (590 Downing)
Timothy Treadwell's death was as sensational as his life:
Presuming he could live safely among the grizzly bears of the
Alaskan wilderness, the outdoorsman and author (Among
Grizzlies)--along with his partner, was eventually killed and
devoured by one of the very animals to whom he had devoted years of
study.
In telling this story, Werner Herzog relies considerably on
Treadwell's own video footage, shot during his time in the wild. But
in the manner well known to those familiar with the stunning
nonfiction films Herzog has made throughout his career, and most
notably from the early '90s through today (Lessons of Darkness,
Little Dieter Needs to Fly, Mein Liebster Feind, and most recently
The White Diamond), the famed German director takes Treadwell's
story into unexpected emotional frontiers and startling landscapes
of the mind. Where he doesn't go is equally as fascinating, but if
Herzog is consistent about anything, it is the defiance of the
ordinary, the rejection of the obvious, and the relentlessly
searching eye he turns on whatever subject attracts his attention.
Treadwell is an intriguing, infuriating, perhaps even tragic figure.
Herzog is equally compelling - this brilliant film is just one
reason why.
This film is Rated R. You must be at least 17 years of age to be
eligible for tickets.
Tickets can be picked up at
Cheapo Discs (2162 S Colorado Blvd) and are available on a
