RatatouilleRatatouille Activities For Tickets
Thursday, June 28 at 7:00PM at CC Cherry Creek

In the new animated-adventure, Ratatouille, a rat named Remy dreams of becoming a great French chef despite his family’s wishes and the obvious problem of being a rat in a decidedly rodent-phobic profession.  When fate places Remy in the sewers of Paris, he finds himself ideally situated beneath a restaurant made famous by his culinary hero, Auguste Gusteau.  Despite the apparent dangers of being an unlikely - and certainly unwanted - visitor in the kitchen of a fine French restaurant, Remy’s passion for cooking soon sets into motion a hilarious and exciting rat race that turns the culinary world of Paris upside down.

We've put together some great parent-kid activities that we'd like you to do that could quite possibly win you tickets to our preview screening. Check them out!

On the heels of 2005’s blockbuster The 40-Year-Old Virgin, writer/director Judd Apatow again mines hilarity from the relatably human in a comedy about a one-night stand with unexpected consequences: Knocked Up.

Allison Scott is an up-and-coming entertainment journalist whose 24-year-old life is on the fast track. But it gets seriously derailed when a drunken one-nighter with slacker Ben Stone results in an unwanted pregnancy. Faced with the prospect of going it alone or getting to know the baby’s father, Allison decides to give the lovable doof a chance.

Sequential Animation Reviews, News and Interviews

No comic escapes the discerning gaze of Michael Vance and Mark Allen

Today's update includes a lot of reviews, mostly due to my having to play catch-up from articles not posted during the lead-up to the convention.

Mark Allen looks over George Perez: Storyteller - a definitive work covering the man and his artistic legacy. He then hardens his gaze on The Power of Iron Man - reflecting to a time when creators didn’t feel compelled to place superheroes in “real life” settings. The Black Coat: A Call to Arms - is about a spy who leads The Knights of Liberty, opposing the tyranny of the British in Colonial New York City. Mark then chums the waters of your interest as he talks about Shark-Man - "The ultra-realistic art of Shark-Man grabs you, shakes you and demands you take notice of the incredible detail, amazing draftsmanship and dazzling color that abound on every page." In Mark's review of Stan Lee’s Amazing Marvel Universe, he waxes nostalgic about the book [that] treats fans to hundreds of full-color cover and page reproductions dealing with important events in Marvel’s vast superheroic history. Finally, Mark weighs in on the merits of Captain America: Winter Soldier Vol. 2 where he admits he can’t wait to see what happens to Bucky Barnes next.

Michael Vance's first review covers Okko: The Cycle of Water #1 - at first glance yet another manga about a ronin, alone or with crew, wandering Japan with bloody sword drawn, but wait, its difference is in its art. He summarily dispatches The Mother's Mouth, then praises the work of Zack Mosley in Hot Rock Glide. A brief mention of NUMB is followed by a mixed recommendation for the Graphic Classics: H. P. Lovecraft.

Music - Peruvian Food - Shopping

Come shop a huge selection of handmade items from Peru including musical instruments, handmade pottery, hand woven rugs, sterling silver jewelry, hand carved gourds, alpaca clothing, native Peruvian art, tapestries, and much more all at wholesale prices! I'd love to tell you about our artists in Peru and introduce you to their work.

A percentage of all sales will go directly to our charity effort in Peru.

Please help us help the children in the villages of the Peruvian Andes. They live in near isolation without medical help or income to provide basic necessities. Amidst this geographical isolation and economical abandonment these children lack the basic things we and our children take for granted. Schools in Peru require children to have a school uniform to attend, a uniform which costs more than these families see in a year sometimes. At this time we are undertaking an aid project to provide as many children as we can with uniforms, shoes, and school supplies for the year.

We at SanYork know that we can only do so much, however the need is great and so little is being done. We offer direct assistance and items are personally delivered to the families in need.

Our Fair Trade project in Peru is about employing artisans in need of a market for their work. Along with our struggle to keep our 63 artists working permanently and improving our facilities to offer a better work place, our staff undertakes aid projects to families in catastrophic circumstances. These are things that we deal with daily in Peru. We can't overlook these miserable facts of life and walk away from them. Our workshop in Peru is surrounded by these villages. When you travel those sandy hills and walk the dirt trails marked by the feet of children who are barely clothed and fed, you realize how fortunate we are and know that whatever we do can make a difference in this chaos, even if we can only do it a few children at a time. Many of our artisans came from these same sandy hills, without water, electricity, and many of the basic things we take for granted. They cannot just move forward without looking back and extending a helping hand to others in the same circumstances.

By buying from Fair Trade companies like SanYork you are already promoting Fair Trade and social consciousness. Thank you for your generosity. We travel to Peru up to five times a year for our business. If you wish to travel with us to Peru and witness first hand our artisans Fair Trade Project and our small aid projects, along with the wonderful history and archeology of this struggling nation, please ask us.

Michel Kessler, Kathy Josey and all of the artists and employees of SanYork. For additional information, visit the SanYork website.

If you would like to join us for our Taste of Peru event, please RSVP by email to Kathy at SanYorkSales@aol.com
