You won't believe how different the Atrium at the Hotel looks. It is much more useable and we are planning on having some great activities in there for all the enjoy. The best part about the new change is that now all the balconies are even easier to see!!
Here are the rules for this years contest:
1 The display should be 'free standing' or secured to the railing only. (masking tape can be used to secure the display -no duct tape, nails, screws, push pins, tacks, etc. into the walls -floor or ceiling)
2. The display cannot hang lower than the end of your balcony. It cannot obstruct the balcony below or be connected to adjoining balconies. (This is for safety reasons as we don't want anyone climbing out over the railing and falling to their death). If you have a display that takes up two balconies you can enter them as one entry.
3. You can not paint the railing, ceiling, floor, or walls of the balcony area. No magic markers, glitter pens, or any kind of marker that would damage the decor. Remember it is to be left as you found it.
4. The displays must be 'family-friendly". When in doubt, ask. Anyone having a display that is deemed inappropriate will be asked to take it down. Remember this is fun!
5. Go to the Convention Information table at the Convention and pick up your entry number from Sharon.
6. Convention attendees will be looking for the most original, most creative, best designed displays possible. Attendees will be judging the entries on Saturday with the winners announced right before the Costume Showcase on Saturday night.

So just out of curiosity, do you actually win anything or is this just a fun activity for all?

The Balcony Challenge Theme will be ALIEN vs PREDATOR. The studio will be providing prizes for the best balcony representing that theme. We promise to have better pictures of each balcony for the website as well and will post those right after the convention for all to see. There is more information about the challenge on the front news page.
There will be two different challenges this year. One will be the studio challenge - the other the regular balcony challenge. So you can decide which challenge you want your balcony to be judged in.
LET THE CHALLENGE BEGIN!
