We are currently running one of our quiz/contests for randomly drawn tickets on our contest pages, but because The Dark Knight is not your run-of-the-mill Summer movie, we decided to add a second way to win tickets to see the movie.

Here's what you have to do...

Tell us why you are Denver's #1 Batman fan. Tell us what sets you apart from everyone else and why you deserve to see the movie more than anyone else. Bonus points will be awarded for links to your silly costumes, Youtube videos and other visual evidence of your #1 status.

The number of chances for winning through this method is not yet determined. I anticipate that we will set aside a pair of tickets for anyone that meets some sort of arbitrary “#1” threshold to be determine later, based on the number of entries received.

Now show us what you’ve got!

Holy Advance Screening Passes! Why do I deserve them?

Besides being the first, numero uno, el primero non segundo to post here, I am indeed one of the battiest characters around.

Did you know that "Thank Dingbat Mark" is an anagram for Batman - Dark Knight? I did. I used my Batagram Generator for that one.

I have recorded many of my visual batastrophes on my batcorder, but unfortunately, my bat-film-erasing spray wiped them all out with a whoosh, POW!, BLAM, <erased>.

I saw Jack Nicholson (Napier) this Summer in Aspen. Thinking fast, I grabbed a poker from a fireplace at a nearby lounge and challenged him, screaming, "YOU WANNA GET NUTS????? C"MON, LET'S GET NUTS!!!. Then I chased him to the top of a nearby church and punched him in the face until his teeth fell out. Aspen is safe, for now.

The only model I've ever done in my life was a scale version of the batmobile. Sadly, the double entendre in that sentence is intentional. As a true-to-life man of mystery, I cannot date models. No, I don't care that Kim Basinger posed in Playboy, that does not make her a model. She, Nicole, Michelle, and Katie are ACTRESSES. <sigh>

I clearly have bats in my belfry. Plus, I know how to correctly spell belfry. Give me bat-passes and I will ensure that that the venue is safe from Catwoman.

well i have enjoyed batman for years...i am a gal, but i was fresh out of graduating and we lived in the hicks in Ohio...we drove to richmond, indiana to see batman on opening night...next day i had to have the sound track...i bought a tee shirt that summer and had it until it feel apart.

honestly, i want to see this movie because of heath ledger...i was really shocked and honestly was in tears when i heard he passed. the sad thing is that it was an accident.

and i loved batman begins...i think that christopher nolan did a wonderful job and really stuck to what batman was about...it showed bruce as a man who was trying to better the city he lived in.

i do not know if that makes me the biggest batman fan in Denver, but i sure would love to see this...regardless i am sure i will be seeing it many times.

Thanks for reading...

Dear Christian Bale,

I'm the biggest Batman fan evah!! When I saw Batman I was like omgz and when I saw the Joker I was like omgz haxxors!

Sometimes when I'm alone I touch myself to the poster of Val Kilmer's rubber nipples hanging over my bed. Mmm, Batman. Whenever I see Jack Nicholson, regardless of the role, I get wet. I even built myself a Bat-pole so I may even experience the pleausre that Robin must've had every time he slid doooown that pole!

I love Batman so much, I sometime force my girlfriend to dress like Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer, not Halle Berry) before spending quality time together. Basically three times a week! (She may be cheating on me by now, probably George Clooney)

If I win these tickets, I will happily return the props I stole!! Just kidding, there's no way I will be turning those in. They will stay vacuum sealed, in mint condition.

And now, a bat-haiku:

A bat in the Knight
Flexing his manly muscles
I just wet myself.

Yours truly, Batman's biggest fan,
Val Kilmer.

P.S. If someone is needed for the role of Robin, call me up. I already have the costume!!

So why I think I deserve tickets...

My entire "hobby life" has been dedicated to the batman. Ever since Batman Begins came out I became more enthralled with Batman since 1989 when I saw the first "modern" take on batman in the films. I am not a batman comic fan...just films.
So much in fact that I lent out my screen accurate Batman Begins costume to an independent filmaker in Chicago who used it to shoot the fan film "the Dark Knight Project" which will debut on the internet on July 15th. Yes..I lent it out to apparently get destroyed...
Funny how I am not mad about it. Maybe it is because it was destroyed on an actual film set. Or it could be because I have an 1989 suit I am also working on. Now we are not talking about the mass-produced stuff here, but actual custom-sculpted suits made by hand.
I am so obsessed with Batman Begins though that I am very close to obtaining a "real deal" cowl that was cast off the original molds of Christian Bales bust. It will be as close to screen used as I will get for the time being. I truly feel that Christopher Nolan captured everything I would ever want to see in a Batman film. I have been counting down the days until The Dark Knight comes out.
I drove during my lunch the other day to see the Batmobile and the Batpod. I also dragged my girlfriend completly out of the way during vacation last year to stop by a museum in Tennessee to see the 89 Batmobile and props. I live and breathe Batman stuff. I own a screen accurate Returns cowl, a very close Begins cowl, Utility belts, Japanese figures, boots, capes, and very accurate 1989 gloves. So accurate, you can't tell the difference.
I just love this stuff.
I will finish off by saying that my girlfriend very much wants to see it with me the first time I go...but she won't do the midnight showing. So help us out so we can see it together!!!

Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen, we are tonight's entertainment!

Now, I know you're looking for Denver's biggest Batman fan, but I'm gonna introduce a little anarchy and tell you why I'm Denver's biggest Joker fan.

When I was a kid I'd watch reruns of the old Adam West Batman show every afternoon after school. Whenever there was a Joker themed episode on, I'd run upstairs and don the little purple suit my mom made for me and spend the hour bouncing around the living room laughing madly and squirting my younger siblings with my lapel flower. (They never saw the humor in that..... but I still think it's funny)

Then, in 1989 when Batman hit the theatres, I BEGGED my parents to take me opening night, I even did extra chores for 2 months beforehand to raise money to take all my friends because I wanted them to see how awesome the Joker would be on the big screen. According to my mom, I used to cry at the end of the movie when the Joker died because "Now no one would be around to make people smile"

Luckily, Batman the Animated Series was just around the corner! I absolutely loved Mark Hamill's voice work as the Joker. As far as the laugh goes, no one can hold a candle to him. (I have high hopes for Heath though) So, for the next few years my Joker fix was secure.

I enjoyed the rest of the Batman movies, but they just weren't the same without Mr. J. When I heard about Batman Begins being a reboot, I was ecstatic because I knew The Joker would be back to torment the streets of Gotham once again. I was the dude in the theatre who would cheer when Gordon whipped out the Joker card at the end of the movie. It was then that the countdown to TDK began for me.

Much to the chagrin of my boss, I've played every one of the viral marketing games up to now, following along with the pre-film story for TDK.

Other random facts:

*I've dressed up as the Joker for Halloween 18 out of my 27 years (A few pics from last year below) I've even convinced several girlfriends to dress up as Harley Quinn to complete the ensemble.
*I have every Joker action figure from 1989 to present (With the exception of the one from "The Batman" because he looks like a rastafarian would if you were hallucinating)

Here's some recent pics of me dressed like the Joker:

So, why should I get tickets to the screening? Because just as Gotham needs Batman, this screening needs someone who can keep the time waiting in line from getting too serious.

Until then, here's a joke.
See, there were these two guys in a lunatic asylum... and one night... one night they decide they don't like living in an asylum any more. They decide they’re going to escape! So like they get up on to the roof, and there, just across the narrow gap, they see the rooftops of the town, stretching away in moon light... stretching away to freedom. Now the first guy he jumps right across with no problem. But his friend, his friend daren't make the leap. Y'see he's afraid of falling... So then the first guy has an idea. He says "Hey! I have my flash light with me. I will shine it across the gap between the buildings. You can walk across the beam and join me." But the second guy just shakes his head. He says... he says "What do you think I am, crazy? You would turn it off when I was half way across."

And here's my card...

Twas the night before screening, and all through the house.
Not creature was stirring, except for my mouse.

My answers were done to the quiz with great care
In hopes that the eMail soon would be there.

My husband was nestled all snug in our bed
With visions of Gyllenhaal running through his head.

And hand on my mouse, and cat on my lap
I settled down without even a nap.

When suddenly outside there arose such a clatter
I sprang from the chair to see what was the matter!

Away to the window I ran like a flash
Looked through the blinds and it made my breath catch.

The moon seemed to give off an unearthly glow
And illuminated the many figures below.

Twas Batman and Rachel and Alfred and Fox!
The Joker and Scarecrow and Two-Face running amok!

And then in a twinkling I heard on the roof
The batpod running idly, cool and aloof.

Tensions, they rose and the faces, they shadowed.
The bad guys they ran, the good guys, they followed!

A claw on my shoulder, a tap on my back
I awoke from my reverie, my cat, she attacked.

Not a creature is now stirring except me in my house.
Not a item was moving except my eyes and my mouse.

My finger it clicks, my mail it fetches
Tickets to batman? And the mail refreshes.

-----

Edit, okay one with pictures - yes, I actually do refresh my mail a lot in sad and pitiful hopes that something cool shall be awaiting me! :)

I'll keep this brief, in true Dark Knight fashion-

Why am I denver's #1 Batman fan?

Because I am Batman

Image

Haha but seriously, I am colorados greatest, youngest batman fan. I live, eat, breath batman. I even dressed as him for halloween when i was 4. Since then, I just haven't been able to get enough. I have a TDK suit under construction with completion scheduled for next week.

Image

I could use some references to make the suit better... maybe by getting to see the movie?...

First off, I want to thank everyone that entered the BB Dark Knight Contest.

I liked and appreciated all the entries - with the possible exception of Nighttiger123 's (just a little too graphic for me).

Three of the entries stuck out, so I've selected three winners.

Joe Morris, Zayanya, and MCL34N. You'll each be getting an email confirmation for you and a guest to the screening.

Nopes, I haven't either.

*refreshes eMail*

Sniffles. I wonder if it's cuz of the website problems they've been having.

Well, I guess that means it's less time for me to stand in line. I was sorta planning on being there at 3pm, but now can sit on my butt in a more comfortable place. Anyone know where the location is?

Edit:
Ahh, it's at I-25.. will our eMails/names be on there and we can just go? It's getting late and sorta worried about the crowds now... :(

Side note, thank you to the kind man who believed me when I didn't have an eMail and he didn't have a list to check against so I could see the movie. :) Very grateful even though there were those problems at the end!

THANK YOU!!!
