Dave McDonnell
David McDonnell is Editor of Starlog, a 29-year-old monthly magazine devoted to science fiction & fantasy film/television/literature and their creators. He has also served as Editor of Fangoria (a sister magazine chronicling horror), Comics Scene and SCI-FI TV. Dave edited the official Star Trek: The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine and Voyager magazines. A movie magazine specialist, McDonnell has produced editions showcasing some 30 films including Aliens, Terminator 2, Starship Troopers, Willow and several Star Trek and James Bond adventures. He graduated in 1978 from West Virginia’s Bethany College and has an M.A. in Advertising from Syracuse University. His career began in 1972 with work in fanzines. He moved to Starlog in October 1982, becoming Editor in April 1985. A frequent Starland convention guest, Dave has attended some 42 Starland events since 1986, in Denver, Oklahoma and Australia (with and little side trip to Fiji too).

It really wouldn't be a convention without Dave and his incredible encyclopedic knowledge of science fiction. He will be speaking with our cousin Jeff in the Main Events room on Saturday and Sunday.
