Nana Visitor

Nana is known to Star Trek fans for her bold portrayal of Kira Nerys, the feisty Bajoran ambassador, on the hit show Star Trek: Deep Space 9. Her complicated character made the transition from rebel terrorist to a respected peacemaker over the show's seven year run.

After DS9, Nana returned to her childhood dancing roots and, after receiving accolades for her portrayal of Roxie in the Chicago Touring Company, Nana was subsequently chosen to play the role in the Broadway production.

She guest starred as Madam X on Dark Angel, and currently she stars as Jean Ritter in ABC Family’s original series, Wildfire. Her recent film work includes Mini’s First Time (2006) and Babysitter Wanted (2007). She currently divides her time between New Mexico, where Wildfire films, and Las Vegas.

Nana is the daughter of Broadway choreographer Robert Tucker and ballet instructor Nenette Charisse. She has two brothers, Ian and Paris, and one sister, Zan. She was raised in New York’s theater district and began dance lessons at her mother’s studio when she was seven.

Nana was accepted into Princeton University, but steady theater work kept her from college. Her portrayals include: Stella Goodman in The Gentle People; Gypsy, co-starring with Angela Lansbury; My One & Only (with Twiggy); as Peggy Sawyer in 42nd Street; and Ladies' Room with Lisa Kudrow.

She played Georgina Whitman on One Life to Live, and had guest roles on MacGyver, Remington Steele, and The Colbys. She appeared in the made-for-TV-movie based on Will Eisner’s comic book character The Spirit, where she played the a comedic role as the police commissioner’s daughter. In Night Court she played a memorable part as a mental patient who is attempting to reenact the shower scene from Psycho.

Additionally, she's appeared in thirtysomething, Jake & the Fatman, L.A. Law, Baby Talk, Empty Nest, Matlock, Murder, She Wrote, and Working Girl (with Sandra Bullock).

Nana will be at Starfest April 19th & 20th. She will be presenting a special Cabaret Performance on the Starfest Main Events Stage.
