Anne Francis
From the moment Anne Francis accepted our offer to attend
Starfest, she was a delight. When KWGN asked to have her to appear on their
April 14 morning show, it was with some trepidation that I called her - knowing
full well that it would mean she'd have to rise very early for the live
broadcast. Anne didn't hesitate, she graciously accepted the invitation and
along with Kevin Atkins, appeared for the segment. After the interview, I saw
the entire cast and crew of the morning show flock around Anne for
autographs. |
My favorite Anne Francis story
occurred after the show. It took place without her there, in the deserted Main
Events Room. Joe, one of the largest and gruff-looking members of our security
staff, came up to me beaming from ear to ear, he excitedly told me that meeting
Anne Francis had fulfilled one of his life-long dreams. Too often such boyhood
dreams fade - or worse - reality seldom meets childhood expectations. But for
Joe, meeting Anne was everything he'd hoped it would be and more. Thank you
Anne. |
