An incredible weekend of
science fiction overload!

John Travolta
     Mr. Travolta is starring in and producing the soon to be release Battlefield Earth movie. The film is the much-anticipated adaptation of the best-selling science fiction epoch. He will be appearing, on stage, in our Main Events Room on Saturday, April 15. Come prepared for an incredible opportunity to meet one of Hollywood's brightest stars and ask him about making movies.
 
Kate Mulgrew
     For the last few years, Kate has starred as Captain Katherine Janeway on Star Trek Voyager. During that time she has won our hearts while commanding her ship and its crew on their long trip home. We look forward to her thoughts about the end of the show's TV voyage and what she anticipates in both her and Janeway's future. 
 

John de Lancie

     John de Lancie is best-known as Q, the witty, omnipotent alien visitor of Star Trek. Many people also recognize him as Eugene Bedford of Days of Our Lives for which he won two People's Choice awards. His film roles include: The Hand that Rocks the Cradle, The Fisher King, Bad Influence, Multiplicity, and a few more that Phil will surely dig-up to show at the convention.

     Along with Leonard Nimoy, John runs Alien Voices; a production company devoted to the dramatization of classic science fiction. He is married to actress-singer Marnie Mosiman, and they have two sons.

 

Lisa Howard

     Lisa plays Captain Lili Marquette on Gene Roddenberry's Earth: Final Conflict, but you may also recognize her from the Highlander TV series. There she played ER doctor Anne Lindsey and love interest to Duncan MacLoed. She aspires to write and direct - like any good actor. But she's probably too busy to do that right-now, her little daughter Sofia will be one-year-old on April 1st. 

 

 

Tyler Mane

     Tyler, a former professional wrestler, stars as Victor Creed (Sabretooth) the mammoth member of Magneto's Evil Brotherhood of Mutants in The X-Men. A professional wrestler for eight years, Mane stands 6'10" and weighs 275 pounds. He has wrestled all over the world in association with the Universal Wrestling Federation and World Championship Wrestling, and, in 1994, he became Las Vegas' MGM Grand Hotel Champion. 

     His acting credits include the film Star Fighter, a co-starring role in the television movie-of-the-week The Bandit, and the lead role of Dean Rebel in the San Diego Repertory production of Turbo Tanzi. Mane has a brown belt in karate, is an avid kickboxer and played semi-professional football in his native Canada. He currently resides in Kansas City, Missouri.

     Tyler will appear at Starfest with Ray Park during The X-Men presentation on Saturday.

 

Anne Francis 

     Starting her long film and TV career as a child actor, Miss Francis appeared opposite Hollywood's best and brightest stars: Dale Robertson, Clifton Webb, Spencer Tracy, Glenn Ford, Robert Taylor, Paul Newman, Jerry Lewis, Don Knotts, Barbra Streisand and with Leslie Neilson in Forbidden Planet. Anne received the Golden Globe Award and was nominated for an Emmy for her role as "Honey West" in the series of the same name. Most recently she appeared on the Drew Carey Show and the new Fantasy Island series. We are happy to announce that Ms. Francis will be appearing at Starfest 2K the entire weekend. Robert Wortham Krimmer

     What is every actors dream? Getting to play a mad Emperor, of course! Robert go that wish in his portrayal of the murderous and maniacal Emperor Cartagia on Babylon 5. In contrast, he currently plays the Reverend Andrew Carpenter on One Life to Live, where he doles out kindness and comfort. He has also had roles on such genre shows Max Headroom, The Twilight Zone and Harry and the Hendersons.

     Although born and raised in Chicago, Robert (also known as Wortham) has roots in Colorado. He got his B.A. in Colorado Springs at Colorado College. While going to school there, he met his wife Mary Ellen, a Denver native. Together they've produced two kids, Max and Tess.
 
 

 

Garry Goldman

     Garry, partnered with Don Bluth, has produced, directed and written some of the most-beloved Animated films ever made. His movies include: Titan A.E., Bartok the Magnificent, Anastasia, The Pebble and the Penguin, Thumbelina, A Troll in Central Park, Rock-A-Doodle, All Dogs Go to Heaven, The Land Before Time, An American Tail, and The Secret of NIMH. Garry will be at Starfest on Saturday with Titan A.E.'s Production Designer,

, for the Titan A.E. presentation.

 

Stephen Austin

     No, not the Six Million Dollar Man. Stephen's a comic, actor and sci-fi fan. He's appeared on genre shows like Babylon 5, Space Rangers, The Pretender, and Sliders. His film credits include Apollo 13, Batman & Robin, and the soon-to-be released Super Dave. His favorite B5 role was as the carrion-eating, Pak' Ma' Ra Ambassador. We're excited that Stephen will be performing his stand-up routine at Starfest!

 
 

 

Richard Arnold

     Working as Gene Roddenberry's personal assistant and liaison with the licensing department for years, Richard has an intimate relationship with Star Trek. Richard has been working as a Star Trek consultant to several Star Trek licensees over the last few years and has helped select and reject many of the images and products produced for the property.

     Richard is an incredible Star Trek Trivia expert and you'd be hard-pressed stumping him. I've tried! He knows Star Trek. If you have a question related to just about anything Trek - he's the guy to settle the bet.

 

 

Christie Golden

     Author of the Voyager novels: The Murdered Sun, Marooned and Seven of Nine, as well as The Next Generation--Double Helix #6: The First Virtue with Michael Jan Friedman, just out this month. She's also written for the TSR Ravenloft line and did the novels for the anime TV show, Invasion America.

 

 

Dave McDonnell

     David McDonnell David McDonnell is Editor of STARLOG, a monthly magazine devoted to SF/fantasy and its creators, and COMICS.SCENE 2000, a bi-monthly revival of the classic magazine exploring comic books, strips, TV shows & movies as well as animation. A licensed magazine specialist, McDonnell has produced editions showcasing some 25 films including Lost in Space, The World Is Not Enough, StarGate, Terminator 2, ALIENS, Starship Troopers, Star Trek III-VII, Willow and Total Recall. His current projects are movie magazines devoted to Disney's Dinosaur and Battlefield Earth. He's also working on a new licensed quarterly premiering this fall. He edited STARLOG'S SCIENCE-FICTION HEROES & HEROINES (Random House/Crescent Books, hardcover), STAR TREK'S GREATEST GUEST STARS (HarperPrism, paperback), the best-selling official STAR TREK 30TH & 25TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIALs and STEPHEN KING AT THE MOVIES (NAL, trade paperback).      It really wouldn't be a Starcon or Starfest convention without Dave and his incredible encyclopedic knowledge of science fiction.  Dave will be speaking with cousin Jeff Walker in the Main Events room on Saturday and Sunday.

 

Jeff Walker

     Hollywood's top Sci-Fi Consultant. How would you like to work with guys like Steven Spielberg, Dean Devlin, and James Cameron?,  That's Jeff's job!  He's the guy all the big movie studios go to when they want to make a science fiction film.  That's because Jeff has worked on most of the top money making films of all time.  Why wouldn't those guys want him on their team?!!   Count on Jeff to blow your socks off with news and previews!

Kevin Atkins

     He's been our Master of Ceremonies forever - well not forever, but for as long as anyone can remember. Unfortunately, most of his jokes are that old too! This year, Keven passed the 1/2 century mark. Be sure to ask him what it's like being as old as dirt ;).
