Kris Hulbert HorrorFest Guest

Kris Hulbert at StarFest 2011Kris Hulbert
Writer/Producer/Co-Director

Kris founded Gratwick Films in 2007. Born in North Tonawanda, New York, Hulbert was inspired by Kevin Smith for many reasons. For one, Hulbert, an avid movie lover, wanted to make movies of his own. Like Smith, he wanted to begin his career away from the chains of working with a big company.
Hulbert completed his first script, which became the movie First Timers, in late 2007 on a five-day trip back to Buffalo. Production started in early 2008, and the premiere played before a near-sellout crowd at the Riviera Theatre in his hometown.

First Timers, according to Hulbert, was "something we could learn and have fun with. I wanted to come up with something we could shoot on our own to get started, a simple no budget dialogue based comedy in hopes of gaining experience and building relationships". The film cost less than $500 to make and grossed over $4,000 from the premiere alone. With a small success under his belt Hulbert set forth determined to make his next project with a working budget and full cast and crew. The Perfect House is the results of those ambitions.

Adam “Bug” Heller (Max Thieriot) was supposed to die on the bloody night his father went insane. Unaware of his dad’s terrifying crimes, he has been plagued by nightmares since he was a baby.
