Because she was a rather shy girl, Luciana was encouraged by her parents to take acting classes. Her high school drama teacher Gerry Campbell (father of actress Neve Campbell) was impressed by the young woman’s talent. Accordingly, he convinced her to pursue an acting career and take theater classes.

After moving to Vancouver to establish herself in the TV and film industry, she was able to book recurring roles on award-winning series like The Chris Isaak Show, Da Vinci’s Inquest, Smallville, and The L Word. Encouraged by these early successes, Luciana continued playing a diverse range of characters on different shows and in several movies.

She is best known to fans for her portrayal of the Viper pilot Louanne "Kat" Katraine on the critically acclaimed Emmy Award winning series Battlestar Galactica. Originally, Luciana was hired as a day player for "Act of Contrition", an early episode of season one. However, based on her performance, she was brought back and her role expanded. Her character was developed and played a pivotal role in several storylines.

Eventually Kat was promoted to Galactica’s CAG (Commander, Air Group). The evolution of this multilayered and complex character provided Luciana with the chance to showcase her wide range of acting abilities.

During her time on Battlestar Galacticaand she continued to work on TV and film projects: Murder at the Presidio (starring Lou Diamond Phillips); Young Blades, Two for the Money, Smallville, Dr. Dolittle 3, Everwood (4 episodes), and Killer Instinct.

Subsiquent to Galactica, she has appeared in the movie Blades of Glory, Hidden Palms, Snowglobe, Phantom Racer, and Urgency. Here genre projects include recurring roles on Caprica and The Icarus II Project. This year, her most recent project Traveling at the Speed of Life – a 20 somthing Drama will be released.

Please extend a warm welcom to Luciana, this will be her first StarFest appearance. She is attending the Friday Night Meet & Greet and be available for autograph and photo sessions throughout the weekend. She is scheduled to appearance on the Main Events Stage for a Q&A session on Sunday.
