One of the things we are contemplating for the Model Show this year is a six hour build on Friday. You bring your tools, paint, supplies, and imagination. We provide the kit. Interested?
Karl Southcott is a local collector of models. Specifically, he commissions subjects for his collection. This year, he is bringing some of his collection to display at the Model Show. Among the artisans whom Karl has commissioned are Starfest Master Modeler Brad Dillon, Starfest Master Modeler and hands-on modeling coordinator Tom Grossman, and Starfest regular Steve Carricato.
Karl will be in the Model Show room on Saturday from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm to chat about his collection.
Pop quiz: How many IPMS chapters have members that contribute to the modeling activities at Starfest?

We will be having the usual hands-on events this year. On Saturday, we will have the Make ‘n Take for our younger convention members and the paper modeling Make ‘n Take for everyone. Tom Grossman will be holding airbrush classes again this year on Saturday as well. We will definitely have After-Hours modeling on Saturday evening as well. Bring your kit and build with us!
On Sunday, we are planning on holding another Scratchbuild Spaceship Contest. If you think you’ve got what it takes, give this event a try.
